MOSCOW, October 29 (RIA Novosti) - Britain's Andy Murray jumped seven places in the ATP world rankings published Monday after winning the St. Petersburg Open tournament, held in Russia's second largest city October 22-28.
The second-seed, currently world No. 11, easily defeated Spaniard Fernando Verdasco in Sunday's final of the $1 million tennis tournament in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.
The tournament's doubles title went to Daniel Nestor of Canada and Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia, who defeated in straight sets 6-1, 7-6 Jurgen Melzer from Austria and Todd Perry from the United States.
The ATP top ten remains unchanged from last week and is still topped by Roger Federer of Switzerland.
