HANOI, November 5 (RIA Novosti) - Floods have killed at least 48 people in central Vietnam in the past week, a disaster management center spokesman said on Monday.
Hundreds of thousands of homes have been flooded in nine central provinces, and food and medicines have been delivered to the area in boats and helicopters.
Weather forecasters said a new typhoon, Peipah, was making its way across the South China Sea at a speed of over 100 km (62 miles) an hour and would bring more rains to the region in the next few days.
