MOSCOW, November 13 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Interior Ministry has tested new body armor, which will protect police and military dogs from bullets and shell fragments, a spokesman for the ministry said.
"The tests revealed that if the vest is worn correctly, the animals have no difficulty in performing their tasks," the spokesman said, adding that the armor can be used during routine patrols, as well as for bomb reconnaissance.
At present, the ministry's dog service is considering equipping its dogs with such vests.
