MOSCOW, November 14 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's VSMPO-Avisma said on Wednesday its net profit calculated to Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) declined 42% year on year in January-September 2007 to 3.77 billion rubles (about $153 million).
The world's largest titanium producer said its revenues declined 5% in the reporting period to 20.9 billion rubles ($850 million), gross profit was down 6% to 8.94 billion rubles ($360 million) and operating profit decreased 11.1% to 6.61 billion rubles ($268 million.
"The company's financial performance was affected by lower world prices for ferrotitanium and smaller ferrotitanium sales in the reporting period," VSMPO-Avisma said.
VSMPO-Avisma, whose clients include aviation companies Boeing, Airbus, Snecma, GE Aircraft Engines, Rolls Royce Aerospace and Pratt&Whitney controls one-third of the global titanium market.
Rosoboronexport, Russia's arms export monopoly, holds a 66% stake in VSMPO-Avisma.
