VLADIVOSTOCK, November 20 (RIA Novosti) - A Russian journalist has died in the Chinese border town of Heihe after falling from the sixth floor of his hotel.
Stanislav Butsovski, from the neighboring Amur Region, was described by an acquaintance on Tuesday as "optimistic."
"It's hard to believe that this was suicide," the source added.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has yet to comment on the 49-year-old journalist's death.
Heihe is on the opposite side of the Amur River from the Russian city of Blagoveshchensk, and is a popular tourist destination for local Russians.
