PARIS, December 6 (RIA Novosti) - A parcel bomb went off on Thursday at a law firm in central Paris where President Nicolas Sarkozy previously worked, killing a secretary and wounding five other people.
Police said two parcels addressed to a lawyer were delivered to the firm on Boulevard des Malesherbes. The secretary was killed when opening one of the packages, and the lawyer himself was injured along with four other people. The second parcel has been defused.
Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoe has already visited the site of the explosion. He denounced the attack and expressed his condolences to the victim's relatives.
French Interior Minister Michele Alliot-Marie cut short her visit to Brussels, and returned to Paris to oversee police and rescue work at the site of the attack. The French Interior Ministry said in a statement that Alliot-Marie had condemned the "cowardly and odious act of terror."
