MOSCOW, December 11 (RIA Novosti) - The opening ceremony of Russia's new Constitutional Court building in St. Petersburg will be held on December 25, a Kremlin spokesman said on Tuesday.
The proposal to move the court from Moscow to Russia's second largest city was made by St. Petersburg's legislature.
"Constitutional Court services can move in right after the official ceremony. This will of course be a major undertaking, but everything will be prepared for the move," Viktor Khrekov said.
He said the court will be able to start working at full capacity from March 1.
The spokesman said that besides the main Senate building, the Constitutional Court complex includes a residential block for staff and a hospital.
