Five students from local universities had earlier decided to set a world drinking record of some description, but gave up the idea of drinking liquors or soft drinks as "you cannot drink much of them".
On Tuesday, however, they finally declared that each of them would drink 10 liters of milk in one hour in an attempt to promote a healthy way of life.
However, one of the would-be record-breakers felt sick after drinking approximately two liters of the 'healthy drink', and was rushed to hospital to have his stomach pumped.
"Though milk is undoubtedly a very healthy drink... in such amounts it lies heavy on the stomach," Russian media quoted a doctor as saying.
Organizers said they would not give up their world record plans and would continue training.
