MOSCOW, December 26 (RIA Novosti) - Gazprombank increased its net profit calculated to Russian Accounting Standards in the first eleven months of 2007 by 27.5% year on year to 18.1 billion rubles ($732.2 million), the Central Bank said Wednesday.
Pre-tax profits of the bank, a subsidiary of Russian energy giant Gazprom [RTS: GAZP], in the reporting period grew 36.7% to almost 26 billion rubles ($1.05 billion).
Founded in 1990, Gazprombank, which has about 2 million retail clients and over 36,000 corporate clients, is one of the top five banks in Central and Eastern Europe, with assets totaling 1.088 trillion rubles ($43 billion) and equity capital of 88.3 billion rubles ($3.5 billion) as of April this year.
