JAKARTA, January 14 (RIA Novosti) - The condition of former Indonesian dictator Suharto, who recently suffered multiple organ failure, has improved, Indonesian media reported on Monday.
"I believe his will to live is very strong because he was a soldier," doctor Marjo Subiandono told the Antara news agency.
Another doctor, Yusuf Misbah, said the former president was neither in a coma nor fully conscious.
President Suharto rose to power in a 1965 coup and was deposed in May 1998 following widespread protests and street demonstrations. His regime was widely criticized for corruption and major human rights abuses.
Suharto, 86, has survived several strokes and stomach hemorrhages in recent years.
