"We will of course appeal the decision within ten days," Dobrovinsky said.
Earlier in the day Moscow's Ninth Arbitration Court of Appeal granted the lawsuit by the Inteko construction company, headed by Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov's wife Yelena Baturina, Russia's richest woman, obliging the publishing house to release a refutation of a December 2006 article.
Axel Springer Russia will have to pay 35,500 rubles ($1,460), which is equal to the sum the article's authors have each been ordered to pay.
Last year, the Moscow Arbitration Court ruled in favor of Baturina, but in October the appeals court overturned the ruling and sent the case for reconsideration.
In the interview Baturina, whose wealth is estimated at $2.3 billion, said: "I enjoy guaranteed protection as an investor", but the magazine quoted her as saying "I enjoy guaranteed protection" on the front cover, which was deemed a misinterpretation.
