ANKARA, January 27 (RIA Novosti) - At least nine people were killed and dozens of others injured after a passenger train derailed in central Turkey early on Sunday, local media reported.
According to the media, three cars overturned when the train, which was going from Istanbul to the city of Denizli in the country's south, derailed near the city of Kutahya.
NTV television said that 24 people were injured in the accident, with three of them in serious condition, while CNN-Turk television put the injury toll at about 50 people.
The train was carrying more than 700 passengers. All the victims are Turkish citizens, local police said.
