GAZA, February 5 (RIA Novosti) - Islamist militant group Hamas on Tuesday claimed responsibility for a suicide bomb attack in the southern Israeli city of Dimona which killed one woman.
The explosion on Monday in a shopping mall killed the suicide bomber and a 73 year-old Israeli woman, and injured 16 other people. A second suicide bomber was shot by police before he could detonate his device.
The group identified the militants as Mohammed Herbawi and Shadi Zghayer, who came from the West Bank city of Hebron.
"Our declaration of full responsibility for the operation came a little late for security reasons and to confuse the Israeli occupation in their attempt to find out facts about the two martyrs," the Ma'an news agency quoted Abu Ubeidah, a spokesman for Hamas military wing Izz el-Deen al-Qassam brigades, as saying.
