KIEV, February 9 (RIA Novosti) - Ukrainian police detained a resident of the northeastern town of Chernihiv in an airport near Kiev on suspicion of intending to take three girls to Turkey to make sexual slaves out of them, police said Saturday.
"The 26-year-old woman residing in Chernihiv tried to take three girls aged 19-24 to Turkey to sell them to pimps for sexual slavery," police said.
According to Ukrainian Interior Ministry data, 307 crimes connected with slave trade were solved in 2007.
