Vladimir Denisov and Yevgenia Morozova became the first couple in the city's history to celebrate their platinum wedding.
They first met in Moscow and got married when Vladimir was 20, and Yevgenia 19 years old. According to the couple's daughter the secret of their successful and long marriage is optimism and a desire to understand one another.
The couple have two children, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Local administration officials presented the couple with flowers, a blanket and 20,000 rubles ($816) as gifts.
