MOSCOW, March 8 (RIA Novosti) - Two trains caught fire in the north of Moscow last night, emergencies services said Saturday.
The information that a car in a Moscow-St. Petersburg train was on fire came at about 3 a.m. Moscow time (midnight GMT). Eight firefighting crews arrived at the scene at Khovrino railway station. It took them an hour to extinguish the flame that embraced 50 square meters.
An investigation is underway.
Three hours before, a fire was reported in a car of a commuter train going from Fryazino to Moscow. Preliminary data suggest that someone set the seats ablaze. No one was reported injured as firefighters put out the fire at Losinoostrovskaya station in half an hour.
