IRKUTSK, March 11 (RIA Novosti) - A Russian businessman was fatally shot in the East Siberian city of Irkutsk on Tuesday in what is believed to be a contract murder, a police spokesman said.
Alexander Dukart, 58, was shot in the back at about 9.00 a.m. local time (01:00 GMT) in the Solnechny District of the city. He later died in hospital.
A criminal case has been launched into the attack, which prosecutors are treating as a contract killing.
Dukart was previously the deputy general director of Irkutsk's Kedr distillery, the region's largest liquor producer, which he left 15 years ago.
