ABU DHABI, March 11 (RIA Novosti) - At least six people died and over 100 vehicles were damaged in what is believed to be the United Arab Emirates' worst multi-vehicle pile-up, the Russian consul general in Dubai said Tuesday.
Sergei Krasnogor said dozens were hospitalized and about 10 cars burned out after vehicles collided in thick fog. Eyewitnesses compared the accident scene on the Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway with "an earthquake-stricken area."
All traffic on the highway has been suspended. Police and firefighters are working to free those trapped in vehicles and send the wounded to hospitals.
