ST. PETERSBURG, March 16 (RIA Novosti) - Two girls aged 6-7 drowned while a boy of the same age was rescued after they went under ice in northwestern Russia, the regional emergencies center said on Sunday.
Rescuers received information about the accident, which occurred in the Banny Bay near the city of Vyborg, at 4:25 p.m. (1:25 GMT) on Sunday. Before the rescuers arrived, eyewitnesses managed to rescue the boy, the emergencies center said.
The boy suffering from hyperthermia has been hospitalized, the emergencies center said.
