BERLIN, April 12 (RIA Novosti) - German national Werner Franz G., 44, accused by German prosecutors of spying for Russia, has pleaded guilty, a source in a Munich court said Saturday.
German prosecutors said the accused "in May 2004-December 2006 repeatedly, for a monetary reward, handed to a Russian secret service officer documents and other materials on hi-tech products used mainly for civilian purposes but applicable for military use as well."
According to prosecutors, the accused met with the Russian officer in Germany and neighboring countries using anonymous emailing.
Werner Franz G. faces one to ten years in prison depending on "the gravity of damage inflicted upon the state and the presence of aggravating circumstances." His case will be considered soon.
