ROME, April 22 (RIA Novosti) -The head of Autostrade S.p.A., a top Italian company, building and operating highways, hopes to find reliable partners at an annual economic forum to be held in Russia's second-city, St. Petersburg, on June 6-8.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, attended by up to 8,000 participants, including world leaders, business heads and media chiefs, focuses on important international issues facing Russia and the international community
"Autostrade S.p.A company already has a few partners in the Russian Federation. I would like not only to meet them at the forum, but also, possibly, make a step forward in a search for new Russian partners, meet representatives of the companies that could collaborate with us in the field of building highways in Russia," Gian Maria Gros-Pietro said.
He said that Russia is a country with huge development capabilities and a great industry potential. He added rising fuel prices were contributing to the country's importance and allowed it to finance and further boost economic growth.
He also said that a country with such prospects needs a developing infrastructure and that's why it was important for Italy to play its role in the field.
"We will offer Russia our competence, our know-how and projects we are already implementing in other countries. We hope to invite international funds and Russian capital," he said.
"Collaboration with Russia is one of the major platforms a new Europe will be founded on and I hope that Italy will be one of numerous countries to do a lot in this regard," he concluded.
