KIEV, April 24 (RIA Novosti) - Over half of Ukrainians would vote in favor of joining the European Union if a referendum were held on the issue, the Democratic Initiatives Foundation said on Thursday, citing a survey.
In the survey, 56% of respondents said they would vote for membership, 25% against, and 19% said they were undecided.
An overwhelming 70% of those polled said they do not consider themselves Europeans, while 25% gave the opposite answer.
The survey was conducted from March 17 to 31 and involved 2,000 respondents from all regions of the ex-Soviet country. The statistical margin of error was 2.2%.
