CHELYABINSK, April 25 (RIA Novosti) - A huge beaver crashed into a food store near the south Urals city of Chelyabinsk on Friday smashing a shop window and several bottles of vodka, local officials said.
"The saleswoman saw a large animal near a store room and called the local emergencies service," a spokesman for the Ozersk administration said. "The animal was apparently frightened by nearby forest fires, and decided to get assistance from people," the spokesman added.
Shortly after the rescuers arrived, the beaver "smashed a few bottles of vodka." The animal was later safely captured and taken back to a safe part of the forest.
After a long dry spell Russia is experiencing its worst wildfires in 30 years with over 36,000 hectares of forest affect in the Far East, Siberia and the Urals.
