MOSCOW, April 29 (RIA Novosti) - A three-year-old boy has died of bird flu on the Indonesian Island of Java, bringing the country's death toll from the deadly virus to 108, local media said citing the health ministry.
The boy apparently became infected through contact with dead poultry.
Indonesia has the world's highest human bird flu infection rate with 132 recorded cases.
On Friday Indonesian authorities conducted a drill simulating a human bird flu pandemic with Indonesia as the epicenter.
The three-day drill involved around 5,000 people and included medics, government departments, the armed forces and police, allowing institutions to practice coordinating their activities using a bird flu pandemic as a mock scenario.
