MINSK, April 29 (RIA Novosti) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said his country remains Russia's most reliable partner in the West, including in the military sphere.
"Russia has none and possibly could not have a more reliable and honest partner in the West than Belarus," Lukashenko said at a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov.
The president added that Russia and Belarus "react to modern military challenges from a common standpoint."
The Russian defense minister said both countries "currently have no serious issues that can not be resolved."
Serdyukov arrived in Minsk on Tuesday for a two-day official visit and is due to take part in a session of the defense ministry joint collegiate between the two countries Wednesday.
