GAZA, April 30 (RIA Novosti) - One Palestinian militant was killed and three other people, including a child, were wounded in an Israeli missile strike on southern Gaza on Wednesday, local radio reported.
The air strike targeted a metal workshop in the town of Rafah, close to a border crossing with Egypt. Metal workshops are often used by Palestinian militants for making rockets.
The militant killed has been identified as Awad al-Qiq, a member of the al-Quds Brigades, an armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
The attack came shortly after twelve Palestinian factions had agreed in principle on conditions for a Hamas-proposed ceasefire with Israel in the Gaza Strip. The ceasefire was brokered by Egyptian mediators. Israel, which rejected a similar proposal on Friday, has yet to respond.
Palestinian militants have fired at least 13 Qassam rockets on Israel since Wednesday morning.
