MOSCOW, May 7 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's crude exports to countries other than former Soviet republics declined 5.8%, year-on-year, in the first quarter to 51.5 million metric tons (377 million barrels), the Federal Customs Service said Wednesday.
The exports of petroleum products to countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), a loose association of former Soviet republics except the Baltic countries, increased 7.3% in the reporting period to 25.5 million metric tons (187 million barrels).
Total exports of crude stood at 55.3 million metric tons (405 million barrels) and petroleum products at 27.4 million metric tons (200.8 million barrels) in the first quarter of 2008, the Federal Customs Committee said.
