On Tuesday, deputies from Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko's bloc obstructed work at the Supreme Rada, demanding that a package of anti-inflation bills be immediately considered by legislators.
Tymoshenko said that the agreement to consider the package of the bills was reached during a meeting between herself, Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, Parliamentary Speaker Arseniy Yatsenyuk and heads of parliamentary factions.
"The talks [with the president] focused on finding a way out of the crisis," Tymoshenko said.
Inflation reached 9.7% in the former Soviet republic in the first three months of 2008.
Tymoshenko, who was elected premier in December 2007, is the most popular politician in Ukraine. Although she has not yet announced plans to run for president in elections in 2009, analysts say she has been taking advantage of her current position to improve her rating as a potential presidential candidate.
Tymoshenko has pledged to cut inflation within the next few months.
