MOSCOW, May 16 (RIA Novosti) - Russian telecoms giant Svyazinvest Group posted on Friday a 88.6% year-on-year increase in net profit to 36.9 billion rubles ($1.6 billion) in 2007.
Svyazinvest, one of the world's largest telecoms holdings, said earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA), including among its subsidiaries, amounted to 87.9 billion rubles ($3.7 billion), with pretax profit rising 78% to 51.2 billion rubles ($2.15 billion).
Svyazinvest's sales revenue grew 12% year-on-year to 244 billion rubles ($10 billion), and sales profit increased 17.9% to 51.5 billion rubles ($2.2 billion) in January-March 2008.
