Dmitry Medvedev has appointed Sergei Ushakov as a presidential adviser, the Kremlin press service said on Monday.
MOSCOW, May 19 (RIA Novosti) - Dmitry Medvedev has appointed Sergei Ushakov as a presidential adviser, the Kremlin press service said on Monday.

Ushakov served as an aide to former president Vladimir Putin from October 2007, overseeing preparations for the 2012 APEC summit.

In 2001-02, Ushakov served as deputy head of the Federal Security Service (FSB) St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region division.

In 2002, he was appointed deputy director of the Federal Protection Service, and in 2007, its first deputy director.

From 2003 through 2007 Ushakov was head of Gazprom's security service with the title of deputy chairman of the holding's board.
