ST. PETERSBURG, May 24 (RIA Novosti) - The governor of St. Petersburg, Valentina Matviyenko, has promised a ‘rich cultural program' for the city's International Economic Forum, scheduled for June 6-8.
"This year we have a rich cultural program. I think that the forum participants will trouble choosing," Matviyenko told reporters.
During the forum, Roger Waters, a co-founder of the British rock group Pink Floyd, will hold a concert on the city's Palace Square.
The forum's cultural program will also include a performance by the national philharmonic orchestra, conducted by violinist Vladimir Spivakov, and a ballet at the Mariinsky Theatre featuring Ulyana Lopatkina.
The city's museums have also prepared special programs for the event. The Mikhailovsky Theatre has a special program lined up for the forum.
