"This is the last session of the organizing committee before the forum. The session will discuss the city's readiness to receive the forum's participants and guests, and the readiness of the Lenexpo exposition center to accommodate exhibition pavilions," a spokesman for the Russian Economics Ministry said.
St. Petersburg Governor Valentina Matviyenko will also participate in the last session of the organizing committee.
Nabiullina, who heads the forum's organizing committee, said in early April that a considerably larger number of participants had registered for the annual economic event than last year. According to her estimates, the forum will be attended by 7,000-8,000 people.
"More than a thousand heads of major Russian and foreign companies will attend the forum, and we expect about 300 representatives of foreign delegations at the highest level," Nabiullina said.
The economics minister said the forum will host two plenary sessions, 10 conferences, 13 roundtable discussions, and a special workshop, 'Young Global Leaders'.
The St. Petersburg Economic Forum is an annual event held with the support of the Russian president. It gathers world leaders to discuss prominent issues faced by Russia and the international community.
The forum traditionally gathers presidents, the heads of government and ministers from many countries, and also members of the international business elite and the chief editors of the world's major mass media and prominent experts.
Russian news agency RIA Novosti is the general information sponsor of the St. Petersburg economic forum.
