MOSCOW, May 26 (RIA Novosti) - Five people died and three were injured when a drunk driver smashed into another vehicle in the Chelyabinsk Region in the Urals, a police source said Monday.
"A drunk driver in a Toyota car from the Kurgan Region [southern Urals] was overtaking another vehicle when he hit a Peugeot head on," the source said. "Five passengers in the two cars were killed instantly."
Both drivers and a passenger were rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
An accident investigation is underway.
