KIEV, May 26 (RIA Novosti) - An An-2 Colt light cargo plane crashed in northern Ukraine on Monday killing the pilot, the country's emergencies ministry said on Monday.
"This happened during the first half of the day. According to preliminary unconfirmed reports, one person was killed, the pilot," a ministry spokesman said.
The ministry's press service said the crash was reported at 11:45 a.m. local time (8:45 GMT).
"The pilot was killed in the crash. A team of the Emergency Ministry relief workers is at the site," the ministry statement said.
The transport ministry said the plane was performing agricultural work when it crashed into treetops. The ministry also said it had not received any request for the flight.
