A new 2008 forecast for Russia's inflation will be announced in July and could remain unchanged despite inflationary pressures, Russian Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said in Osaka Saturday.
OSAKA, June 14 (RIA Novosti) - A new 2008 forecast for Russia's inflation will be announced in July and could remain unchanged despite inflationary pressures, Russian Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said in Osaka Saturday.

Kudrin, who is also deputy prime minister, made the comments during a meeting of finance ministers from the G8 group of industrialized nations. Russia's current forecast stands at 10.5%

"In July we will issue a new forecast, it will be based on a comprehensive analysis," he said, adding "It is a question of prices. Perhaps it will be confirmed [at the old estimate]."

As Russia continues to reap the benefits of high world oil prices with a large influx of petrodollars, consumer price growth has proved to be a major problem for the Russian authorities.

Last year inflation in Russia stood at 11.9%, up from 9% the previous year.
