CAIRO, June 16 (RIA Novosti) - Most of the 150 illegal migrants on board a ship that recently sank in the Mediterranean have died, Egyptian media cited the Egyptian embassy in Libya as saying on Monday.
Earlier Monday, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said a ship with illegal migrants on board heading from Libya to Italy had sunk in the Mediterranean.
According to media, Egyptians, Bangladeshis, and a number of different African nationals were on board the boat.
The ship departed for Italy June 7, but engine failure caused the boat to crash shortly after departure, an Egyptian taken on board a nearby ship told media.
