MADRID, June 30 (RIA Novosti) - Russia has proposed hosting the 21st World Petroleum Congress, the chief executive of Russia's state-controlled oil producer Rosneft said Monday.
"We will make every effort to hold such a congress in Russia," Sergei Bogdanchikov, who heads the congress mission in Russia, told journalists at the 19th World Petroleum Congress in Madrid.
The congress is held every three years, and with Qatar slated to host the next gathering, Russia could host the event in 2014.
