MOSCOW, July 4 (RIA Novosti) - Russian policemen in the north of the Moscow Region stopped a car carrying 11 kg (24.3 lbs) of pure heroin, arresting two men and confiscating the drugs, a police official said Friday.
"Drugs were confiscated upon an inspection of a Zhiguli car, which had been at first followed and then stopped by policemen due to its suspicious behavior," the spokesman said.
He added that when police tried to stop the car the suspects caused an accident, wrecking three cars and then crashing into a truck.
Two suspects, who turned out to be the citizens of Tajikistan, were detained, but the third managed to flee.
"The detained suspects said the cargo belonged to the third one, who promised to pay them $5,000 for transporting the cargo," the spokesman said.
The search for the third suspect is under way.
