MOSCOW, July 18 (RIA Novosti) - Russia insists that Ukrainian customs authorities return video tapes confiscated from a Russian TV reporter at Kiev's airport, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday.
A TVTs journalist, who had filmed a report about the Ukrainian authorities' intentions to separate the country's Orthodox Church from the Moscow Patriarchate, had five video tapes confiscated at Kiev's Borispol airport late on Thursday.
The Russian embassy in Kiev has already sent a note of protest to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
"Russia insists that the confiscated materials be returned to their owner as soon as possible, and an explanation be provided," the ministry said, calling the actions of the Ukrainian customs officials "unfriendly".
