MOSCOW, July 21 (RIA Novosti) - At least 56 workers are trapped in a coal mine in southern China, the state news agency Xinhua said on Monday.
Rescuers have been unable to reach the miners at the Nadu mine in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomy since the mine flooded during the afternoon, the agency said.
The Chinese coal mining industry remains the world's most dangerous, with up to 7,000 miners killed annually.
Earlier this month, at least 10 workers died at a flooded coal mine in north China's Shanxi province.
