ATHENS, July 24 (RIA Novosti) - Four people were injured and one is still missing following a blast in a dockyard near Athens on Thursday, a spokesperson for the country's Merchant Marine and Island Policy said.
The blast occurred on a tanker docked in the port of Perama, some 20 km (12 miles) away from Athens, during welding work. An assistant to the captain is missing.
"We can confirm that four people were injured and hospitalized with burns," the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson failed to confirm media reports that several welders were also missing.
A fire that broke out after the blast has been extinguished.
