MOSCOW, July 28 (RIA Novosti) - Fourth-seeded Russian Dinara Safina won her second title in 2008, defeating Italian Flavia Pennetta 6-4 6-2 in the $600,000 Los Angeles Classic final on Sunday.
The 22-year-old younger sister of Marat Safin had beaten the Serbian No. 1 seed Jelena Jankovich in the semifinal.
Safina, whose win takes her to a personal-best eighth place in the Women's Tennis Association world rankings, said she has tried to overcome her temper on the court, which has helped her win matches.
