SIMFEROPOL, July 31 (RIA Novosti) - Seven Ukrainian holidaymakers including three children were killed when their car collided with a truck early on Thursday morning in Ukraine's Crimea, traffic police said.
The accident occurred near the regional capital, Simferopol. All of those killed were from Kharkov in eastern Ukraine.
A police spokesman said the driver of the car may have fallen asleep behind the wheel, before swerving into the oncoming lane and crashing head-on with the truck.
"The car made a 180-degree turn and fell into a ditch. All the people in the vehicle, including a 12-year-old boy and two girls aged six and nine, died," the spokesman said.
The truck's driver and passenger were not severely injured in the crash.
