MOSCOW, August 4 (RIA Novosti) - Rostelecom [RTS: RTKM] said on Monday that its net profit calculated to Russian Accounting Standards increased 6.2% year-on-year in January-June to 4.98 billion rubles ($212 million).
The national long-distance telecommunications operator said its earnings in the reporting period remained unchanged from 2007 and stood at 30.6 billion rubles ($1.3 billion).
Rostelecom, a subsidiary of Russia's state-run telecoms giant Svyazinvest, said operating profit grew 16.1% year-on-year in January-June to 6.3 billion rubles ($269 million) and pre-tax profit climbed 5.7% to 6.6 billion rubles ($282 million).
