MOSCOW, August 13 (RIA Novosti) - Russian truck producer KamAZ has reported almost a 50% year-on-year drop in its net profit, calculated to Russian Accounting Standards in the first half of this year, to 2.6 billion rubles ($111 million).
Earnings increased 25.6% to 50.5 billion rubles ($2.2 billion), while gross revenues declined 6.6% to 6.5 billion rubles ($278 million).
KamAZ, based in the Volga Republic of Tatarstan, produces more than 30 models of trucks, as well as trailers, buses, tractors and spare parts. It also manufactures engines, power units, and components.
The company has assembly facilities in Poland, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Ethiopia, Vietnam and Ukraine.
KamAZ heavy-duty trucks have won the Paris-Dakar rally on several occasions.
