MOSCOW, August 19 (RIA Novosti) - Russian wrestlers enjoyed mixed success in the men's freestyle wrestling on Tuesday, taking gold and bronze on Day 11 of the Beijing Olympics.
In the 60 kg weight category Russia's Mavlet Batirov, who won the 55 kg gold at the Athens Olympics, comfortably beat Ukraine's Vasyl Fedoryshyn, to bring Russia its 9th gold medal of the games.
The bronze medals went to Seyedmorad Mohammadi of Iran and Kenichi Yumoto of Japan.
In the 55 kg freestyle wrestling Russia's Besik Kudukhov shared the bronze with Radoslav Velikov of Bulgaria, while the gold medal went to Henry Cejudo of the United States, who beat Japan's Matsunaga Tomohiro.
Russia is currently ranked 6th in the overall medal standings with 9 gold, 13 silver and 17 bronze medals, while China tops the standings boasting 40 gold, 14 silver and 17 bronze medals.
