BEIJING, August 24 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Alexey Tishchenko has beaten Daouda Sow of France in the final of the lightweight (60 kg) category to take gold on the final day of the Beijing Olympics.
The victory follows his gold in the featherweight category at the 2004 Athens Olympics.
Tishchenko won a hard-fought bout 11-9.
His victory comes a day after Russia's Rakhim Chakhkiev claimed gold in the heavyweight division.
Russia now has 72 medals, including 23 golds, and is in third place in the medals list.
