MOSCOW, August 31 (RIA Novosti) - Two traffic police officers have been shot dead and another two injured by unidentified assailants in Russia's North Caucasus republic of Kabardino-Balkaria.
A law enforcement source told RIA Novosti that the incident occurred at 3:20 p.m. (11:20 GMT) on Saturday at a checkpoint in the Elbrussky region of the republic.
"Unidentified assailants opened fire with automatic weapons from the forest, spraying the officers' car with bullets," the source said.
