MOSCOW, September 11 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Foreign Ministry condemned on Thursday the recent terrorist attack in Lebanon, in which a senior pro-Syrian politician was killed, and called for measures to prevent arms supplies to the country's militias.
Saleh Aridi of the Lebanese Democratic Party was killed by a bomb planted under his car in the town of Baysur, southeast of Beirut, on Wednesday. Six other people were injured.
"Whoever may have committed this crime, what happened once again stresses the importance of observing corresponding resolutions on Lebanon, including those setting an embargo on arms supplies to irregular armed groups," the ministry said in a statements published on its website.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
