Far East International Economic Forum to be held Sep.30 - Oct.1

MOSCOW, September 22 (RIA Novosti) - The 3rd Far East International Economic Forum will be held in the Russian city of Khabarovsk between September 30 and October 1, a spokesman for the local administration said on Monday.

Sergei Vasilyev said the forum would be attended by business and trade representatives from 18 countries, including from the United States, France, Japan, China, and Australia.

"The forum will focus on the strategy of the social and economic development of Russia's Far East until 2025, including demographic and social problems, the development of the fuel and energy sector and transportation infrastructure, as well as aspects of environmental protection in the region," he said.

The 10th Amur Region Trade and Industry Fair-2008, comprising some 200 participants from the Russian Far East, will also be held on the sidelines of the economic forum.
